M&J Trimming has been a staple in NYC’s Garment District for over 70 years. Now, with their first venture into the bridal world, M&J allows the bride to become the designer of her own wedding look!
When we arrived at M&J ’s flagship store, we were quite literally blinded by bling. The walls shimmered and sparkled with spools of Swarovski crystal, lace, ribbon, and tulle. Just when we thought we’d taken in all the gorgeousness we could handle, we entered the newly opened bridal salon at the back of the store. The room glistened with jewelry, belts, veils, and handbags.
What makes M&J’s new bridal salon so special is that every bride has the opportunity to create something totally unique for her wedding. Brides can choose to embellish their gowns or bridesmaid dresses with a HUGE selection of Swarovski crystal, lace, or satin trim. Brides can also design a completely customized veil from start to finish, choosing the cut, color, length, and (our favorite part!) the trim. Plus, there’s even the opportunity to style the perfect DIY belt! A BG favorite was a crystal appliqué paired with an ivory satin ribbon.
And, the best part of it all… it’s absolutely affordable. Most of the readymade M&J belts retail for under $200. Our newly engaged Web Producer (Congrats Stefania!), recently made a custom sparkly belt at M & J to pair with a simple dress for her engagement party for under $50!
