Autumn in New York only means one thing: it's New York Bridal Fashion Week.
By: Rachel CapoSpring/Summer 2025 bridal fashion week ushered in new designers, updated trends, and much excitement about next year's wedding fashion. While basque waists and bridal bows continue to be hot, we were thrilled to see a resurgance of the early aughts sparkle, sexy boned corsets, and interesting new accessories.
Though so many designers inspired us this season, here are a few of the trends that should be on your radar if you're getting married next fall.
Basque Waist
This flattering silhouette cinches at the smallest part of the waist and extends down below the natural waistline into a V-shape, elongating the torso. While this waist treatment has been around since the Victorian era, this season brought updated iterations with chic 3D flowers and sexy cutouts.
Arm Sleeves
While gloves aren't exactly a new trend for brides, our editors spotted many chic pairs of long fingerless gloves, we're aptly calling arm sleeves, on the runways this season. From Galia Lahav to Alexandra Grecco, designers styled their strapless gowns with removable arm sleeves for a chic two-in-one look. Find our favorite versions made out of delicate lace and elegant silk below.
Boned Corsets
Corsetry can cinch you in, hold you up, and smooth you out, creating an ultra-feminine silhouette. A very important and popular element in wedding gown design, a corset wedding dress traditionally features a lace-up tie on the back of the gown's bodice. This seasons iterations featured a modern update: sheer corsets with exposed boning, adorned with flowers, lace, and tulle.
Allover Sparkle
While we've always loved a little bling, designers this season brought us back to the early 2000's with heavy beading and allover sparkle from head to toe. Crystals, sequins and pearls, oh my!
Bridal Bows
Bows are back again! This romantic detail popped up allover runways, with big, dramatic bow ties, as well is in sweet little details. It's clear this feminine adornment is here to stay.
