They married before 400 of their nearest and dearest. The bride wore three wedding gowns and appeared on the cover of People magazine. And last night, newlyweds Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries were fêted at a fabulous party at Capitale hosted by Jason Binn and wedding planner extraordinaire Colin Cowie. The party was billed as a “night of style and glamour” to welcome the media stars to New York City. Naturally, Bridal Guide was right there, keeping up with those Kardashians and taking in all the action and revelry. Here I am with Stefania Sainato, BG’s Web Producer (left) and Kristen O’Gorman Klein, our Online Editor (right).
When we arrived, there were barricades in front of the venue, lots of paparazzi (and police on standby for crowd control) as well as a loooong line of invited guests waiting to get in. The doors soon opened and the glammed-up crowd entered a spacious room that was surrounded by tall white urns filled with black and white feathers.
We spotted a few celebs among the throng: Lance Bass, Dina Manzo (formerly of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” who now has her own show on HGTV), Rob Lowe, and even Greta Van Susteren! I’m sure there were more in attendance but, as you can see, it was a little challenging to find anyone in the crowd.
Kris Humphries wasn't hard to spot, though!
The party was definitely fun and festive: A DJ played fantastic dance tunes and everyone was in great spirits (thankfully, no earthquakes or hurricanes in NYC this week!). The outfits were all appropriately glamorous, too: a gazillion LBDs, short, strapless metallic and jewel-toned dresses and even some long, sequined gowns. (The guys all looked fab, too.) Finally, at about 9:45 p.m., Kim and Kris, along with sister, Kourtney, entered the venue. Take a look at their welcome from Jason Binn and Colin Cowie.
Afterward, performers from Cirque du Soleil thrilled the crowd and Kim and Kris, along with Kim’s BFF LaLa Vasquez Anthony, watched the performance.
At the end of the evening, an uber-glam wedding cake was rolled onto the floor and the newlyweds happily sliced into the confection.
Before long, the party was over but it was truly a mega-NYC welcome for Kim and Kris as they settle in to their new life together in the Big Apple. We had a great time and, of course, wish the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness.
