By: Rachel CapoJustin Alexander Warshaw married his longtime love Kelsey Turchi at Castello di Celsa in Siena, Italy on September 30th. The couple kicked off the weekend with a welcome party at Borgo San Luigi, where guests enjoyed a tasting of Italian wines and authentic live music. Kelsey looked exquisitely chic in a custom pant suit by Viktor&Rolf Mariage, with a beaded collar and an open back. The two cheers-ed to forever, surrounded by close friends and family from all over the globe. After an incredible plate of Italian cuisine, toasts shared by their most important guests, and some sweets to top it off, the party ended in preparation for their big day the next morning.
The wedding and ceremony took place at the historic castle, which dates back to the 13th century. The location was lush with greenery from the gardens all the way up the vines of the castle, romantic architecture, and spectacular views of the Italian countryside. The weather called for rain, and the morning started out indeed foggy, until just one hour before Justin and Kelsey’s first look... The sun came out, the clouds cleared, and it provided the most magical setting for Kelsey's big reveal.
For the ceremony, Kelsey wore a custom Justin Alexander gown, personalized with special embroidery, handwritten by Justin himself, and a magnificent dramatic veil to match. Kelsey's sleeve read "Love, yours," and their wedding date and initials were hand-placed on her veil. The guests entered the garden, underneath gorgeous floral archways, and were greeted by a string quartet. Justin came down the aisle first, wearing a dapper ivory Ralph Lauren tuxedo, with Christian Louboutin shoes.
After the pair exchanged personalized vows and shared their first kiss as husband and wife, it was time to party! For the reception, Kelsey surprised Justin by changing into his very favorite design, "Bobbie," a custom Justin Alexander Signature gown, designed by Justin himself. The dress is currently available for retailers to order, but Kelsey was the first bride to wear it, which is very special.
At the reception, the guests enjoyed an authentic Tuscan menu made by the amazing chefs at Guidi Lenci Catering. The reception space was decorated in twinkling lights, abundant florals, and beautiful Italian dinnerware. There was a gelato cart, and Kelsey and Justin helped create their wedding cake on the spot by handmaking it together in front of their guests. After the dessert, the couple invited their guests to join them outside for a spectacular fireworks display in the gardens before they shared their first dance to “Find Someone Like You,” by Snohaalegra.
Later, Kelsey changed into a short halter Justin Alexander party dress to dance the night away! Justin also changed into a black Ralph Lauren tuxedo jacket and his Nike Jordan’s x Travis Scott sneakers for a more relaxed and fun look. The next day, the couple hosted a bridal brunch and pool party where Kelsey wore a custom Lillian West floral two-piece design. After the celebratory weekend of events, Justin and Kelsey jetted off on their honeymoon in Sicily. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Warshaw!
Wedding Planning Tips from the Newlyweds:
Couples that choose to host destination weddings know it can be complicated to plan your event from far away. We asked Justin and Kelsey for insights for BG brides planning their big days when they aren't able to be there every step of the way. Justin says, “If you can, hire a wedding planner who will keep you organized and link you with great vendors to help execute your wedding vision. A good team can adapt on the fly, from changing weather conditions to hiccups that may occur throughout the day. If you are planning on your own, use wedding portals and referrals to help you find great vendors! Don’t be afraid to ask a friend - everyone is happy to share a recommendation! Most importantly, try not to let the things outside of your control affect your experience negatively, both in planning and on your wedding day. Your guests are there to celebrate you and your partner! Enjoy yourself!”
