Tip of the Day: Marriage licenses expire after a certain period of time and some states have a several day waiting period, so make sure to plan ahead! Marriage license bureaus generally require you to pay in cash, and in most places, both bride and groom must apply together, in person. You'll need specific identification — in many states, a photo ID (like a driver's license) and Social Security card will suffice, but other places may require a certified birth certificate. The majority of states have dropped the blood test requirement, but some do retain it or another medical requirement.

Tip of the Day: When creating your registry, make sure you have a wide range of products at various price ranges. "No wedding guest wants to play a guessing game. If there are not enough distinct items on your registry, you not only have a good chance of receiving many of the same items, but you also may get gifts that don't match your style," says Kate Siegel of Kate Siegel Fine Events.

Tip of the Day: An easy way to cut wedding costs is to DIY whatever you can. If it seems like a daunting task, call in the help of your bridal party to assist with some projects. Create beautiful centerpieces using repurposed wine bottles as the vases or create a table runner with greenery and succulents. For favors, burlap-decorated mason jars filled with treats of the bride and groom’s choice is an easy project that can be dispersed throughout the reception tables, says Kelly Stephenson, Director of Marketing at OfferUp.

Tip of the Day: Check in with your honeymoon resort a month or two before your wedding day to see if they've added any special perks for honeymooners since the time you originally booked. Resorts refresh their romance packages all the time, and they might have added free breakfasts or a discount couples’ massage since then. Resorts will often go out of their way for honeymooner VIPs, so you'll never know unless you ask!
