Says the bride: "Creating the floral designs was one of the best parts of the DIY process."

It wasn’t difficult for Erin to envision the couple’s October wedding. As an invitation artist, "For years, I helped other brides create what they wanted for their big day." Now it was her turn. Erin began with color, as seen in her palette of dusty blues and sage green. Pops of maroon were a nod to the surrounding fall foliage — as well as to the groom's favorite hue.

The couple's invitation suite sets the stage for the floral-filled celebration to come. Erin, an artist for Momental Designs, designed all the paper details from invites to placecards to menus. "It was so gratifying to make what I wanted and bring my vision to life," she says.

Florals sourced from Fifty Flowers included red hanging amaranthus, hypericum berries, ranunculus, blue thistle, ferns, blush spray roses, baby’s breath, and lisianthus.

"Our niece, Eleanor, took her flower-girl job very seriously, as did her brother Patrick, our ring bearer."

"I gave each of my bridesmaids a color and let them choose whatever style they wanted," Erin says. "That way, each could spend as little or as much as she was comfortable with. Everyone has different budgets, and being in a wedding can be expensive."

The venue, the Stone Hedge Golf Course, in Tunkhannock, PA, has sweeping views of the Endless Mountains.

Erin’s dress by Maggie Sottero; she incorporated her maternal and paternal grandmothers’ jewelry into her day-of look: earrings and a ring — along with Chanel perfume.
