“We envisioned our big day having a classic-chic style enhanced with multicultural flair by mixing American and Italian traditions,” said Ashley. For example, the outdoor ceremony at Chiesa dei Disciplini in Sale Marasino featured an American-style processional with the bride’s father escorting her down the aisle, while the recessional followed Italian tradition — having the bride and groom exit last.

During a summer weekend getaway to Montauk, New York, Marco proposed to Ashley as close friends waited nearby to celebrate. The New York City locals met in Manhattan where Marco, originally from Italy, attended graduate school at Columbia University. The groom’s family lives in Italy so the couple opted for a picturesque wedding along Lake Iseo, a treasured landscape of rolling hills and centuries-old establishments just two hours east of Milan.

The bride’s goddaughter and cousins walk hand-in-hand as flower girl and ring bearers.

Seat assignments were displayed atop small bundles of flowers; each table was named after the couple's favorite neighborhoods in NYC and Italy.

Relais Mirabella in Clusane d’iseo hosted the nearly 10-hour, multi-course reception. The bride said, “Having our families and friends all together supporting us and having fun was such a beautiful, unforgettable experience.”

Reception tables featured ivory blooms to maintain the sophisticated theme.

Elegant menus and ivory napkins paired well with floral tableware at the reception.

Eco-friendly candles with a label saying “Grazie” served as wedding favors.
