A Surprise Wedding: Lizzi & Mitch
Lizzi and Mitch always knew they wanted to get married – even in their relationship's early days. "We've been talking about getting married pretty much since we started dating," Lizzi said. "When you know, you know!" The pair has a date set for two larger weddings in November of this year, one a traditional Laos ceremony, and one a traditional American. "Unfortunately, getting married at the courthouse is not as easy as it seems in 'Sex and the City!" Lizzi quipped. "We couldn't find a time or day that worked with our schedules." A plan quickly fell into place for a surprise backyard affair, with Mitch's ordained sister-in-law presiding, and a bridal shower as a cover, resulting in a unique wedding for the ages, that truly showcased the couple's style. "There were only three people in LA who knew about our wedding ceremony (not including the clerk who issued our marriage license). Everyone who came over that day, thought they were coming to our wedding shower. Even when people showed up, I don’t think they realized that the backyard was literally set up for a wedding (chairs lined up in a row, with an aisle and makeshift alter). One of our friends who knew the real reason we had asked everyone over, invited everyone to sit down for a "big announcement" and finally our guests connected the dots when our flower girl came down the aisle!" -Lizzi
