If a traditional getaway just isn't her speed, try one of these fun and modern celebrations she'll love.

Celebrate your bride's first gown fitting by going for a group shopping trip afterwards. Visit a fantastic flea market or vintage stores, where you'll get the most bang for your buck.

1. Pick up the parking tab. Offering is the right thing to do.
2. Plan lunch for the start of your shopping day, so that everyone is well-fueled. Just be sure to choose a restaurant ahead of time to avoid the "where do you want to go?" chaos of trying to get the group to decide. As party hosts, you and the bridesmaids should split the cost of the meal.
3. Surprise the bride with a gift card to her favorite outlet store, or have some money ready to buy that adorable bracelet she spotted in the vintage shop. A bride planning and paying for her own wedding might not have expendable cash, and you don’t want her to be bummed that everyone else is shopping and she’s not able to pick up anything.
