Weddings can be expensive for more than just the bride and groom. Bridal Guide Editor-in-Chief, Diane Forden, weighs-in on bride tribe etiquette for out-of-town festivities.
By: Diane FordenQ: My maid of honor would like to have my bachelorette party in Nashville, Tenn. Are my bridesmaids expected to pay their own way and mine as well? What other options may be less costly?

A: It's considerate of you to be concerned about your bridesmaids' budgets. They are expected to pay for their own airfare and accommodations but not required to pick up the tab for yours. In lieu of paying for your flight and hotel, they will probably treat you to a dinner or two, cocktails or a massage or facial. And even though Nashville is a fun, cost-effective and hip destination for bachelorette parties the dollars can add up. If you're uncomfortable with having your bridal party fork over money for a weekend away there are less expensive ways to celebrate. Weather permitting, consider a pool party or barbecue, a day at the beach, or go horseback riding or camping. You can also treat yourselves to a spa day followed by . dinner at a favorite restaurant. Enjoy a night at the theater, a day at an amusement park or an at-home spa party couples with a wine tasting. There are plenty of affordable options available for getting together, having fun, and celebrating your friendship.
