Tip of the Day: Have friends and family members write letters to you — write one for your groom, and vice versa — which are sealed into a box. Open it on your one-year anniversary and read the notes aloud (ideally with a glass of bubbly in hand).

Tip of the Day: Pick your battles wisely. "You will have to compromise with someone, even if they aren’t contributing a dime to your wedding," says Carla Sancho of WeddingCollectibles.com. Of course, some topics are off the table for discussion (e.g. which denomination your ceremony will follow), but there are smaller details that may fall into the "let it go" category.
To help you decide which aspects are worth compromising on, Sancho recommends asking yourself whether it will still be important to you 10 years from now. If the answer is "yes," then stand your ground. If the answer is "no," then it might be worth conceding in order to potentially avoid hurting someone's feelings.
